This is the carburettor for the UMS 5-75cc engine, the five-cylinder 75cc four-stroke radial from UMS.
The part itself is the carburettor, which meters fuel into the intake air stream.
Why it is replaced: carburettors are replaced when a needle or seat wears, when a slide or throttle shaft is sloppy, or when tuning cannot be made consistent — a lean-running carb is a real risk on an air-cooled radial.
Fitting note: Check the manifold joint and gasket at the same time, and re-set the needles from a known baseline.
