This is the cylinder with sleeve for the UMS 7-50cc engine, the seven-cylinder 50cc four-stroke radial from UMS.
The part itself is the cylinder barrel with its pressed-in sleeve, forming the bore the piston runs in.
Why it is replaced: the sleeve is the wear surface; a scored or oval bore is the reason to replace the cylinder rather than just the rings. Supplied as a pack of 2, which is how these small parts are normally bought — you rarely need just one.
Fitting note: Measure the bore at several heights before condemning it, and oil the bore on assembly.
