A carburetor heat block to suit the DLE 120 twin — a large two-stroke petrol engine for big scale models.
On this engine the component is the heat block between the carburettor and the engine, which keeps the carburettor body warm and reduces the chance of carb icing.
Why this part matters: carburettor icing is a genuine hazard on a petrol aero engine, and the heat block is the part that mitigates it; it is replaced if it is cracked or its faces are worn.
Fitting note: Check both sealing faces and fit new gaskets — the block is only useful if it seals.
