This is the cans(long muffler) for the DLE 20RA single, a small-displacement two-stroke petrol engine for sport-scale models.
The part itself is the can-style long muffler, used where the exhaust has to be quieter or routed further back.
Why it is replaced: long cans are fitted to meet noise limits or to move the exhaust away from the airframe, and are replaced when they crack or burn through.
Fitting note: Support the can so its weight is not carried by the exhaust stub.
