This is the engine base for the DLE 111 twin, a large two-stroke petrol engine for big scale models.
The part itself is the engine base plate, on which the engine sits and mounts to the airframe or stand.
Why it is replaced: replaced when cracked or when the mounting holes have elongated, which lets the engine move.
Fitting note: Check flatness and inspect for cracks around the bolt holes.
