10×8 Folding Propeller

A 10×8 folding propeller for electric models where the propeller needs to fold in flight.

The first figure is the diameter in inches and the second is the pitch: the pitch is the theoretical distance the propeller would advance in one revolution in a solid medium. A higher pitch at the same diameter loads the motor more and produces more speed; a lower pitch produces more thrust at lower speed. Getting that pair right matters more than the propeller’s brand, because the load it places on the motor decides whether the power system runs inside its ratings.

The fold matters on a model that lands on its belly or on a narrow strip: a fixed blade digs in and breaks, while a folding blade simply folds. On a sailplane it also removes the drag of a stopped propeller.

Supplied as a blade pair, so it suits a hub designed for this size; check the hub bore and the root thickness against the blades before ordering, since folding hubs are not interchangeable between sizes.
