This is the muffler (l) for the DLE 170M twin, a large-displacement two-stroke petrol twin for very large scale models.
The part itself is the long-body muffler variant for the engine.
Why it is replaced: a longer can reduces noise further and is replaced when it cracks or burns through.
Fitting note: Support the can so its weight is not carried by the exhaust stub.
