On this engine the component is the crankcase, carrying the main bearings and, on a two-stroke, acting as the induction chamber.
Why this part matters: replaced when the bearing bores or seal faces are worn or damaged.
Fitting note: Check the bore dimensions and renew the seals on assembly.
