DLE222 Throttle Rod

This is the throttle rod for the DLE 222 twin, a large-displacement two-stroke petrol twin for very large scale models.

The part itself is the throttle rod, which links the throttle servo to the carburettor.

Why it is replaced: a bent or worn rod makes throttle response vague and can prevent the engine reaching full power or closing fully.

Fitting note: Check the rod is straight and set the linkage so the carburettor reaches both stops without binding.
