This is the sensor for the DLE 35RA single, a mid-size two-stroke petrol engine for sport and scale models.
The part itself is the ignition pickup sensor, which tells the ignition module when to fire.
Why it is replaced: a failing sensor gives an intermittent misfire or a no-start that is difficult to diagnose, so it is a routine spare.
Fitting note: Check the air gap to the magnet and the state of the connector before condemning the sensor.
