This is the engine mount for the DLE 85 single, a large two-stroke petrol engine for big scale models.
The part itself is the engine mount, which carries the engine to the airframe firewall.
Why it is replaced: the mount takes the full engine weight and thrust along with every landing shock, so cracks or elongated holes are a structural issue.
Fitting note: Inspect for cracks radiating from the bolt holes and check the mount is not twisted.
