This is the cylinder with sleeve for the UMS 5-100cc engine, the five-cylinder 100cc four-stroke radial from UMS.
The part itself is the cylinder barrel with its pressed-in sleeve, forming the bore the piston runs in.
Why it is replaced: the sleeve is the wear surface; a scored or oval bore is the reason to replace the cylinder rather than just the rings.
Fitting note: Measure the bore at several heights before condemning it, and oil the bore on assembly.
