This is the bottom cover for the UMS 7-260cc engine, the seven-cylinder 260cc four-stroke radial from UMS.
The part itself is the bottom cover, which closes the underside of the crankcase.
Why it is replaced: the lowest point of the engine, so it collects oil and is the first thing damaged in a wheels-up landing.
Fitting note: Check for cracks around the screw holes and fit a new gasket.
