UMS 7-260cc SILENCER ASSEMBLY

This is the silencer assembly for the UMS 7-260cc engine, the seven-cylinder 260cc four-stroke radial from UMS.

The part itself is the silencer assembly, which collects the exhaust from the cylinders and reduces noise.

Why it is replaced: silencers crack at the welds and corrode from the inside, and a cracked silencer is noisy, can leak hot gas and can come apart in flight.

Fitting note: Check the welds and mounting points closely and support the silencer so vibration is not carried by the joints.
