Function: it is the small-end connecting rod assembly supplied with its bearing.
The reason this ends up on an order: replacing the small end with a fresh bearing restores the piston pin fit and removes the play that causes uneven running.
Fitting note: Measure the pin for wear before fitting a new small end.
