Why this part matters: push rods bend if the engine is turned over with a valve stuck, and a bent rod stops that cylinder breathing correctly. Supplied as a pack of 2, which is how these small parts are normally bought — you rarely need just one.
Fitting note: Roll the rod on a flat surface to check straightness before fitting.
