This is the hall sensor for the UMS 9-115cc engine, the nine-cylinder 115cc four-stroke radial from UMS.
The part itself is the Hall effect sensor, which reads the magnet ring on the cam gear and tells the ignition when to fire.
Why it is replaced: a failing Hall sensor gives an intermittent misfire or a no-start that is hard to trace, so these are a routine spare on ignition-equipped radials.
Fitting note: Check the air gap to the magnet ring and the condition of the connector before condemning the sensor.
