This is the single directional bearing for the DLE 170M twin, a large-displacement two-stroke petrol twin for very large scale models.
The part itself is a one-way (directional) bearing, which transmits drive in one direction only.
Why it is replaced: replaced when it slips or locks in the wrong direction, which shows as a starter or drive fault.
Fitting note: Fit it the correct way round — a directional bearing will not work if reversed.
