A woodruff key compatiable from 30cc to 222cc to suit the DLE 170 twin — a large-displacement two-stroke petrol twin for very large scale models.
On this engine the component is the Woodruff key, which keys the hub or drive to the crankshaft so torque is transmitted positively.
Why this part matters: a sheared key is the usual result of a prop strike, and a worn key lets the drive fret on the shaft.
Fitting note: Check the keyway in both parts for fretting before fitting a new key.
