DLE55 Piston ring

This is the piston ring for the DLE 55 single, a two-stroke petrol engine for larger sport and scale models.

The part itself is the piston ring, which seals compression on the piston.

Why it is replaced: a ring is a wear item replaced at overhaul; a worn or stuck ring shows as falling compression, difficult starting and rising fuel consumption.

Fitting note: Check the ring end gap in the bore and make sure the ring is free in its groove.
