The Dualsky GA1500.5 is a brushless outrunner from the Giant Airplane series — a motor class intended for large fixed-wing models where the power system has to turn a big propeller reliably.
These motors are built around a large-diameter stator, which is what provides the torque to swing a large propeller at moderate rpm.
A large model needs thrust at the propeller, and on an electric power system that means a low KV motor turning a big blade rather than a high KV motor turning a small one.
